Peek-a-U2!

Here's the cd sleeve I created for the other part of my birthday giveaway. The pic of the boys on the cover is actually a canvas I'd given my girlfriend for her birthday last year. I added the wording for this occasion. Can you tell I'm a huge fan?

If you've never been to a U2 concert, this will be a treat for you. All the tracks are live versions of songs you know well and when played very loud will give you the feeling of actually being at a concert. I've never been a fan of live recordings, but these guys rock. A U2 concert IS A RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE!

I hope everyone who receives it will appreciate the artistry in U2's songs. One particular chilling track is Miss Sarajevo when Bono suddently bursts into his tenor opera voice. I like Bono and think he has a noble cause, however I'm of the mindset that it's better to give people fishing poles instead of fish.

Ever since I was about three years old, I remember loving music.
Music was always playing in our house--8 track tapes of Johnny Cash, albums of Doris Day, or the soundtrack from Camelot. My brothers and I would put on skits to music like "Jerimiah was a Bullfrog" by Three Dog Night. My mother enrolled me in every lesson she could find, whether it be ballet, tap, piano, flute, whatever. I just wanted to dance and sing and my mom just wanted to get her precocious daughter out of the house for a few hours.

I endured 8 years of piano lessons. It was torture for me. I hated the duet competitions because I got so nervous playing in front of everyone. So much pressure! I also hated to practice songs I didn't like and wanted nothing more than to play the popular tunes of the time like "Beth" from Kiss or something by Elton John. I experimented with the drums and flute but never really found my instrument.

A few years ago, I started taking acoustic guitar lessons. I've always wanted to play the guitar and the time felt right. I'm still learning, but it's fun to sit down and belt out a few Tom Petty or Sheryl Crow tunes when no one's around--except for my dog Max. He likes it when I sing to him! Maybe I'll start a band and call it "Miso Corny." Get it?
