Tryin' to stay dry...
We've been getting dumped on. It was snowing HARD for 2 days then it started to melt and turn to rain. It hasn't stopped since Friday. We're hoping it will let up later on today because....
There's flooding EVERYWHERE! The high school is closed because it flooded. Most of the roads around here are closed because the tide is high right now and with the nonstop deluge of rain, the rivers are coming up over the roads. This morning, I drove over a bridge and the water was almost half way up the side of my car!
Even our house which we're remodeling is flooded! Not good! Glad we're not living there!
It also hasn't been very fun trying to house train little Miss Violet, Sassy Pants, Bossy, Hutton. I figured she'd have a problem with the snow, but it didn't bother her one bit. She jumped around in it like a bunny. I, on the other hand, wasn't having very much fun standing out in the cold snow and rain waiting for her to do her job.
And, poor Max. He was excited to have her here...... for about the first fifteen minutes. The newness wore off quickly. She nipped him between the legs because...well...she thought he was her mother!
When he's sitting in his dog bed, she'll stalk him like a cat then pounce on him. He'll growl and she just barks back as if to say "Hey! What's you're problem you old fart!" He finally was sent to time out last night because he nearly bit me in the face when I was trying to get him to give in a bit to her. Bad dog!
It's certainly like having a new baby in the house. Everything gets put aside and you need to find a new way to schedule your life around potty time. She is sleeping through the night though, so that's a good thing!

I hope you are able so stay dry!
Look at that face! How could you not give into her?!?!?!
I hope the flooding disappears soon. The new puppy is adorable, she has the sweetest little face.
Have fun with your new little lady! My wieners are not enjoying the snow here in Maine - anything over 2-3" buries them!
Thankfully, unlike you, I don't have to stand outside with them. just open the door and off they go (into our fenced in yard)

I was kind of concerned for your sweet little Max when you told us his age and that you were getting a puppy. That is very hard on an older animal. They see all the attention they get, and they have a very hard time dealing with it. I've seen animals age rapidly after getting a baby sister or brother. Give Max LOADS of attention, and try to not let him see you guys loving on Violet, and that should help Max adjust.
Some times I think dogs are MORE work than new babies!!! But at least they sleep all night...
How's Max doing? He'll be just fine- that's all pretty normal! Too cute!
This dog is so adorable!
