Softie Goodness....

I purchased the new Softies book by Terese Laskey the other day and had to make one of the little paper doll dresses by Alicia. Isn't it cute? I didn't stuff it, 'cause I like it just the way it is. I think these would make great little ornaments for a girly Christmas tree. Don't you?

Now that my favorite wool felt supplier has closed up shop, I've got to find another. Does anyone know of one? I want to make more dresses but in different colors.....
The book is very colorful and includes all the patterns for the 25 projects featured inside. I'll probably make most of them. She could have left out the Lonely Dollop, which is described as a blob of poo, and it certainly looks like one. Um yuck. It was made by a guy who says he approaches his designs with wit and originality. Whatever dude. I think it's called potty humor. I wouldn't waste the material or the time making it.

There's a few other artist's you'll recognize in the book and I think it's worth the price since young girls could certainly tackle these easy sewing projects. Oh, I think that little tree would look great in the Paper Mache Neighborhood now wouldn't it?

What cute little felt creations! I've been wanting to know where to get good quality wool felt, too. I have some patterns I want to try but they require the wool felt.

The dress looks great unstuffed. Such a great idea for tree decorations. I'm glad the book is as cool as it looks.

The Lonely Dollop by Shawnimals is actually really cool.

Granted, it's not for everyone...but there's no reason to slag him as a designer just because you don't like one of his designs. :(

Plush is a small world. Let's play nice. :)
