Welcome to my 'Hood!

I'm so pleased with how these turned out! I've had this idea for a while and finally finished it. These are paper mache house boxes. Yes, boxes. I think they're going to make very cute gift boxes for softies and other little Christmas goodies.

They're also a great toy for little kids. They can make their own little village! Can't you just see the Garden Party Girls hanging out here?

HEY! There's a mouse in my house! Oh, it's just Groucho Mouse! He's always gettin' into somthin'!

I think a little girl would love receiving a house box with a small tea set inside.

And, don't forget to paint a heart on the bottom, 'cause we all know Home is where the Heart is! And also because they're handmade!

I'm working on painting another set with a more sophisticated architecture, so the colors won't be so bold. The one I've started is pale pink with a lavender roof. I'm going to cover the roof with glitter to glam it up a bit. When the set is done, I'll be sure to show you a picture.

I also decided the chimney needed a little bird nest. This bead is really tiny and the nest is about an inch in diameter. I love it!

Would you like to make a set of your own? You can find the paper mache boxes here. Scroll down the page to find the set you'd like. If any of you decide to make one or a set, I'd love to see what you come up with!
