I was at Michaels the other day and picked up a bunch of these wooden cigar cases. I pulled out my wood burner and went crazy.
Remember the woodburner? Does anyone use their's anymore? I certainly need some practice. It's been a long time. I loved my woodburner when I was a kid.
A few years ago I purchased a textile tool primarily for the purpose of using the little iron tool. It also had a couple of fine nibs so I thought I could use it to do these.
Then I dug out my pencil case and woodburned the bird in the cage. I plan on selling some of these in my Etsy shop after Thanksgiving. There'll be other images wordburned on them also and there will be 15 pre-sharpened colored pencils inside along with a pencil sharpener. They'd make a great gift or stocking stuffer!
This one is Buck's fave. He likes the little chicks. Speaking of little chicks, we get our little girl next Friday! I can't wait to bring her home!

I like the chicks best too!
Those are great, I had completely forgotten woodburners, they were so popular when I was a kid!
You are a-maize-ing with a woodburner! I was never ever that good! (Ok, I really really sucked at it) I think the girl with the jump rope is so sweet and the bird is a fav of mine. I love the idea of the pencil case with pencils...
ADORABLE. There are other woodburners on Etsy, including someone who does pencil cases. don't let that stop you, though. :)
Man those are so cute! Do you do them freehand or do you trace a pattern on the wood first then burn over it?
Those are adorable and it doesn't look like you need to practice.
