A Mother/Daughter Collaboration

I'm back in the saddle again with my new screamin' fast Imac.  I couldn't be happier but it's quite a challenge to get used to a smaller keyboard!

My daughter flew out for Thanksgiving and we did lots of crafting together.  She'd been asking me to look for a pair of thrifted cowgirl boots for her but I didn't realize she had plans for them.

She decided to cover the top with lace and a leather flower.  All of the ingredients for the refab were thrifted!  I showed her how to make the leather flower and she used some leather strapping I had for the piping.  She used epoxy to make everything stay on the boot!

We discussed how much she was going to put on the boots.  She wanted 3 flowers on each boot, but I reiterated the KISS (keep it simple stupid) principle to her, so she settled on one.

My pictures don't do the boots justice as I had to take them the night before she left, but we're super happy with how they turned out.

Now, she just needs to wait for the snow to disappear and she'll be wearin' them all the time.
