Recently, my girlfriend showed me a t-shirt that she purchased at a boutique in downtown Seattle for $100. I instantly thought DIY!
So, here's my version of what I call Tattered Love. Find a well worn t-shirt, mine's from Old Navy. You'll need some cotton material in the colors you like, embroidery thread, needle & pins. Trace out your letters on card stock for a pattern. Then cut two of each letter. I doubled mine because I wanted a thick fray. Pin the letters on your shirt and hand stitch with embroidery thread. Throw the shirt in the washer and dryer when you're done so you'll get the washed frayed look.
I think it turned out pretty cute and I didn't spend $100! She's gonna kill me....
