Pattern Paper Mache

Buck thinks I've finally lost my mind. When I start crafting, he always asks "What are you makin' now?" When he saw all the ripped up patterns, glue and styrofoam, he knew somethin' was up.

I've had this idea for a while, and finally had a few moments to try it out. I googled Paper Mache dolls and found this tutorial. I altered it a bit, and decided to use the vintage patterns I've been accumulating for a project like this.

Pattern tissue is a great consistency to use for paper mache. I used wallpaper paste which is the easiest because it already comes in a big tub. I was going to make some clothes and a hat for her, but I kinda like the rickrack and button over the pattern paper.

Yeah, I've probably lost my mind. In the meantime, she's gonna sit by my sewing machine. I like her. Next up...glitter houses.....heh..heh..heh....

She's lovely and can serve quite well as your sewing machine muse. I've been going through old magazine crafting articles I've been stockpiling and glitter houses is one of the projects I'd like to try sometime, too--no time soon though as my "wanna do" list is way out of control.

She is so pretty! Do you mind me asking what brand wallpaper paste you used? I tried paper mache a while ago, but I never could figure out the glue aspect. Thanks!

I have an angel made like this, over 20 years old, that has graced the top of my family's christmas tree for as long as I can remember. How lovely to see another!
