Meet Kanji!

There she is! That's my birthday present! Isn't it the cutest?! Her name is Kanji and I'm getting a personalized license plate that says Maize. I've also outfitted myself in a black leather motorcycle jacket, black helmet and gloves. My husband tried to get me to buy the black leather chaps but I told him those would be more for him than me! I'm getting a rack for the back to haul stuff too.

Okay...here's my plan. I'm going to start a scooter gang! I want to have a group of gals that get together every other Sunday and go for rides to a yarn shop, for coffee or take the ferry to Seattle and scoot around downtown. It's going to be called Boot Scootin Sunday (haven't thought of a name for the gang yet since it only has one member) and I'm going to post pics of places I go on my scooter and post them on my blog. How fun is that?! My husband says I'm having a mid-life crisis. I told him if a mid-life crisis means that you recognize you're working too hard and aren't having enough fun, then YES I'm having a mid-life crisis. I'm old enough to be having a mid-life crisis too so yeah it's my turn.

And the other pic is of the new bracelet called "Barbed." It reminds me of barbed wire. It's made out of black linen cord and laced with small sterling silver beads and a recycled silver toggle that I made. I'm working on getting a better picture of it before I put it in the boutique. I'm also bringing back my "Willow" chokers which are made from black linen and barouque pearls.

Speaking of willow, while we were out on our walk this morning, my neighbor and I spied some curly willow in the fairgrounds throw away pile. We grabbed a bunch--she's making really cute chairs out of them for plants and I'm hanging a large piece in my studio. FUN!

OH! Almost forgot! The winner of yesterday's giveaway is.....Stacy in Kansas! I'll have another one next week so don't forget!

I'm starting "Basic Italian" language classes tonight and was talking to friends about it. They've predicted that by the end of spring, I'll be speaking Italian and riding around on a Vespa. Congrats!

Having owned a scooter for the best part of my adult life (and even flying it from New Zealand to Australia) I can say you are going to have an utter blast. You might want to check out Draggin Jeans as well http://www.dragginjeans.com/
