Thrifted linens

Every time I'm in St. V's I must make a stop at the doilie board and every time I do I find something special. I'm elated that the people pricing these don't think much of them even though I do. I usually only pay a quarter or so for each one. I marvel at the time and effort women have put into either crocheting, embroidering or tatting each one of these. I could collect them forever.

While I was rummaging around in my vintage linen stash I discovered some old quilt squares my MIL had embroidered. I think she was making it for Buck before he was born. The square that has me wierded out is that freaky looking bunny man on the right hand side. I haven't decided what I'm going to do with these yet.

This is one of my faves. The bird in crochet. I'm thinking about framing it against some cool background.

I also found some granny squares crocheted out of linen thread that I'm stitching together and incorporating into a tote bag. I was up late working on it and I hope it turns out cute.

A knitter friend recently got two perfect huge doilies for about $3 total. Great finds!
