The Free People Swap

I decided to participate in the Free People Travel Swap, and this is what I came up with. I purchased one of those little wooden suitcases from Michael's and cut up a bunch of National Geographic maps from the 1950's. First, I stained the suitcase brown, then decoupaged the map to it. I finished it with a clear coat of poly and a skeleton key. I stamped "Follow Your Heart" on the front.

I've actually been thinking about this pendant for some time now. It's called...you guessed it... "Follow Your Heart." I'm really happy with how it turned out. It's going inside the suitcase along with a silk coin purse with coins from other countries, this vintage doily, and a little Eiffel Tower charm.

I wrapped it all up in papers from a thrifted vintage stamp album. I'm really happy with the result and I hope she likes it!
